Erin McBride Africa is a stage director, choreographer, performer, and theatre professor based in the Los Angeles area.
She is the Artistic Director of Open Wings Theatre Company and Associate Artistic Director of Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival. She is on the theatre faculty at College of the Canyons, LA Mission College, and California State University, Northridge.
She is intrigued by works that spark imagination while raising challenging questions. Her passions include physically expressive theatre, collaboratively developed new works, and lively classics. Every theatre performance is a journey.

Open Wings theatre company had a successful debut production of Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them by A. Rey Pamatmat at The Main in Newhall, CA.
2018 - The Stinky Cheese Man, The Little Prince, Dial Meow for Murder, Walidad the Grasscutter
Erin's Theatre for Young Audiences production of The Stinky Cheese Man (and Other Fairly Stupid Tales), a musical based on the popular picture book by Jon Scieszka, had a three-month run performing for first and second grade classes at California State University, Northridge.
2017 was a busy year! Erin led a group of students in the creation of Coffee Chronicled: A Devised Play About TIME and directed A Piece of My Heart at College of the Canyons. She also directed two 10-minute plays in festivals at Eclectic Company Theatre in North Hollywood and Sacred Fools in Hollywood, CA.
Erin directed Vanessa Stewart's Operation and Monica Greene's, Friends & Fantasies in Fast & Loose at Sacred Fools in Hollywood.
