Erin McBride Africa is a stage director, choreographer, and theatre professor based in the Los Angeles area. She is intrigued by works that spark the imagination while raising challenging questions. Her productions lead audiences on journeys of rich storytelling. She has a strong interest in new work, collaborative creation, and smart theatre for young audiences.

Erin is thrilled to be joining the faculty of the Theatre Department at College of the Canyons where she will be teaching Acting Fundamentals in the Spring 2014 term.
In August of 2013, Erin's second boy, Percival Sky, was born! Welcome to the world, little one.
In late 2012, Erin worked with Company of Strangers, stage managing the world premiere of Joe Luis Cedillo's 7, 8IGHT, 9. The scenic design was provided by Erin's husband, Jay Africa. The show received a second production by the historic El Teatro Campesino in the spring of 2013.
Erin choreographed several numbers for Spider Baby the Musical, produced at the 10th Avenue Arts Center in San Diego as a part of Gam3rCon 2012.
Earlier in the spring of 2012, Erin judged a middle school Shakespeare Monologue Festival hosted by the National Endowment for the Arts.
In the Summer of 2011, Erin produced a staged reading of Arlene Hutton's As It Is In Heaven at the Spectrum Playhouse in Lee, Massachusetts.
